Shuanglong's Short Biography
I am Shuanglong Li, an Associate Professor of Sociology at the School of Public Administration, Guangzhou University. I earned my Ph.D. in sociology from Kyushu University in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Kazuto Misumi. My recent research interests cover health, social stratification and mobility, and quantitative methods. My work has appeared in Social Science and Medicine, Social Indicators Research, and The Chinese Journal of Sociology, etc.
I was a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Studies, Kyushu University (June 2017 to February 2018), the Universities Center for China Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (May - July 2012), and the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica, Taiwan (January to February. 2014). In July 2013, I was awarded a full scholarship from the International Sociological Association (ISA) to participate in the International Laboratory for Ph.D. Students in Sociology at The University of Sydney, Australia. From September 2013 to August 2014, I was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Sociology, Utrecht University (Host: prof. dr. ir. Vincent Buskens). Between October 2010 and March 2015, my study in Japan and the Netherlands was fully funded by two scholarships from the European Union Institute in Japan, Kyushu and the China Scholarship Council, for which I am eternally grateful.
